The staff are lovely towards their regular guests as I am not one it was 2+ hours before I was asked if I wanted a coffee. The wording is deliberately misleading - in actuality it is open ONLY between 2pm-9pm and there is no access to it before 2pm, serviced or otherwise. The website says the Club Millésime is “open 7 days a week AND SERVICED between 2pm-9pm”. If this airport lounge level breakfast offering is worth $45, please continue your generosity by including me in your will. The coffee is so bitter it is undrinkable. Some green leaves, smoothies, the staple hot food items, eggs to order, and cut fruit. The buffet comprised a large platter of 3-4 ham choices and a plate of smoked trout or salmon (no label to tell). I had breakfast once in the Suzette restaurant. If you ignore the knock they just barge right in. They knocked on my door each morning to ask if I want my room serviced another knock to check the mini-bar (and they never replaced the one drink I consumed on night 1 anyway) then a knock in the evening for turndown service. The housekeeping staff do an excellent job but do not care if you have the Do Not Disturb sign outside your door. The rooms are clean and a comfortable size while the carpet and wall stains are more than clear signs of aging, it is a fair few years yet before a proper makeover is necessary. It is directly above Central Station with direct train services to and from Brisbane Airport and Gold Coast walking distance to the CBD and about 20m walk or train to South Bank and the QPAC. I stayed here for 7 nights and booked 2 rooms, one for me and one for a friend. I know talking about declining quality of 5-star level hotel offerings makes this all rather Karenesque but if a hotel explicitly bills itself as “5-star” with “sophisticated luxury and “indulgent dining” (and charges accordingly), that must be the standard to which it must be held.
